Exempt Professional Assembly
Welcome
The Exempt Professional Assembly has successfully unified the 350-plus exempt professional staff from the Downtown Campus, 9th and Colorado, and Anschutz Medical Campus into a single organization and have ratified new bylaws to govern the collective group.
One of the EPA's most important goals for the new year is, simply, to increase member participation. As our jobs become more demanding, optional meeting is one of the first things to go when time is tight. Supervisors may not always support staff involvement, due to a perceived impact on productivity. Travel time between campuses can make attendance impractical, especially for staff using public transportation. Finally, there may be a perception that employee organizations do not have the power to make a meaningful difference, either to individuals or to the institution as a whole.
This year, the EPA's executive board will make a particular effort to communicate with its members so that members are informed, even if they cannot always attend meetings, and to invite involvement at a variety of levels. Member participation will enable the EPA to serve well in its role as the voice of exempt professionals at University of Colorado Denver
We all look forward to a productive and exciting year, and, as always, we welcome your comments and suggestions.
